English: Diagram of the planet Mercury, including all of its layers.
  • Mercury's overall diameter is well established at 4,880 or so km, and therefore has a planetary radius of about 2,440 km.
  • Mercury's core (combined solid and liquid) accounts for approximately 83% of its total radius and has a radius of 2024±9 km. * * The inner core is small, however, at less than 35% of total core radius, making the inner core a sphere with a diameter of about 1400 km and the outer core a layer with a depth of approximately 1,325 km [1]
  • Crustal thickness is currently (2018) estimated at between 35 and 53 km depth.[1]
  • Mantle has an approximate thickness of 600 km.[1]
  • The anticrust is a widely accept layer of solid iron sulfide at the boundary between the mantle and core, and is proposed to be approximately 100 km thick.[2][3]
