Autres versions
A Single-leaf half-elliptic spring, with scroll eyes formed by rolling.
Although illustrated in 1912, this is a relatively modern design and the only one of these that might still be encountered fairly commonly (usually in light vans).
B Half-elliptic springs with ends sliding on a wear plate. This design provides no location, which must be achieved by some other means.
C Half-elliptic springs with shackles at each end. A common design in period, it provides some location.
D Three-quarter elliptic springs. See Back axle suspension springs.jpg for an example on a rear axle.
E Elliptic springs, with shackles.
F Elliptic springs, with one shackle and one pin. The pin provides better longitudinal location than a pair of shackles.
